ADUs in Methuen, MA
Since February 2, 2025, the Massachusetts Affordable Homes Act allows one ADU by right in Methuen’s single-family zoning districts, up to 900 square feet or half the size of the main home, whichever is smaller. The town can’t require the owner to live on the property, and it can require no more than one parking space. Septic (Title V), wetlands and local dimensional rules still apply. We check the local rules during the site visit, before design begins.
